I run a venture consultancy and profess a motto: “Start Up, Evolve, Give Back“. I crave exploration. I grok creativity.
I blog to profess authentic inspiration, by giving credit where credit is due, per the ventures of my diverse network of entrepreneurs, financiers and strategic-partners. I post musings of opportunities claimed or missed. I attribute my lingo oddities to the obsession I have for exhibiting originality (eg: ”rrawesome..“, “Grand Eurekas!“, “L-O der!“, “Gyt Sterf Dern.“, etc.).
I am much obliged for every opportunity I receive to collaborate with talented minds. I believe we are put on our Earth to create something meaningful; something worth leaving behind, when we leave it. I am committed to giving that effort my all in all that I do.
I hope you enjoy exploring my thoughts and my passions via this medium. Thank you for your interest and patronage…
“Grand Eurekas!”,

NAGY, my surname, literally means: “GRAND“ in Hungarian. ~ I practice what I preach about personal branding: relevant, simple and catchy.
BOMB: “any means fused to explode an extremely sudden release of energy under certain conditions.” ~ Throughout my entire life, my grandest ideas have been those which ignite my motivation and often awake me from a state of dreaming. “Bomb” is the name I’ve given to the explosive creative process which we (ie: entrepreneurs, inventors, artists and innovators alike) experience upon the origination of our personal “EUREKAS!“
“Grand Eurekas!” (or quite literally: ”NAGYBOMBs” in my case) are the innovations we create that captivate us… The ideas which make us get out of bed, no matter what time of night, and put pen-to-paper… The plans we cannot wait to outline, research, tweak and prove… The outcomes our determination teaches us to learn from whether we succeed or fail… The risks we take. The sacrifices we make.
What’s a new term without a good ‘ol tale? “The NAGYbomb“ was officially coined by my life-long, friend Scott North, in 2006, to define my style of skiing during our annual trip to Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia. Unlike the agile finesse portrayed by my peers; each carving eloquent trail-after-trail swiftly down the largest mountain on our continent, “The NAGYbomb” (yours truly) set the first -unofficial- record bombing the mountain’s back-bowl.
Here’s a quick clip, showing only the beginning of that descent [Had I known this term would have become the name of my blog, four-years-later, I would have requested more footage ~ " C'est la vie " as the French-Canadians say] :

Nagyisms (or singular, a “Nagyism”) are what I define as “Inspirational Musings of an Adventure Capitalist”. Some call it philosophy…
Since the time I was 12, I’ve been compiling original theory per my creative agenda. In 2008, I first shared Nagyisms publicly. I mentioned a few principles of networking to entrepreneurs at Columbia University’s venture capital symposium. They would go-on to professionally award my comments bragging rights, online. It was the first, formal publication of my entrepreneurial musings per members of a credible, startup community.
When creating my blog, an old friend, Taylor Binder, encouraged me to dedicate a section to Nagyisms ~ as meaningful advice, tips, cautions, predictions and life lessons for startup-enthusiasts and good-samaritans. Today, I find myself committed to this practice as my civic duty, rather than an act of press. In cases where I cannot claim origination, I offer “Nagyism Tributes“ ~ my personal shout-outs to those clients, friends or role models (whom I quote) per the inspiration and education they have gifted me. For obvious reasons, I typically tailor a Nagyism to 140 characters or less…

Made: The United States of America
Launched: 11:30am on Tuesday, September 30th, 1980
Location: Hunterdon Medical Center of New Jersey

I spent the first 13 years of my life domiciled in Tewksbury Township, NJ. My brilliant sister, Laurie Ann (@LaurieAnnDC), and I both attended elementary school in this horse-country section of The Garden State. A quest I often refer to as “the best decision of my adolescence”, I enrolled in private, boarding school for boys: The Hill School, located in Pottstown, PA.
As a youngster, I identified with the term “renaissance man” …simply because I strived to fit its definition. If not playing the trumpet in rrawesome places around the globe (something I was very fortunate to do, in fact), I was learning to fly fish with my Godfather and playing as many sports as my parents could afford to enroll me. (I was also secretly convinced I could be a “Mad Scientist” as a kid — a completely normal afternoon would consist of a venture down into the bowels of our basement so I could create things on my workbench…for hours).
Roanoke College allowed me to hold the Presidency of my Sophomore class, as well as my pledge class for The Fraternal Order of Sigma Chi… One position allowed me to be the President I wish had accomplished more during his term…the other position, taught me a lot about human capital and management versus any relevance to a political agenda.
I began focusing on entrepreneurship when I attended American InterContinental University — London, England for a year. Upon my return, a professor by the name of Dr. Hartwig, suggested I harness my passion for “creating” beyond traditional business application — he knew I was bound to create corporate means following my graduation, so he encouraged me to host my first art show while I had the opportunity. Thus, I explored the works of three-dimensional art…a process that was one of my most beloved collegiate experiences.
I earned a BA in 2003 while holding the position of “Tribune”…public relations runs in my family.
I’ve always attributed one’s level of contentment relevant to his/her ability to “B Positive”…as irony would have it, that’s also my blood type. I have a theory that life should follow a course of action: “H.E.L.P.M.E.G.R.O.W.L.” — I’ll be certain to let you know if it proves true.
